Problems of life put no end to living in harmony. They rather generate for its owners alternatives to thread along. All doors do not close against anyone. When one get closed, several others get loosen and open up second, third fourth and fifth alternatives for this fellow. You can’t identify your favourites without first knowing your dislikes. It’s your problems you subtract from the vast to obtain your “can dos”.

Problems vary, but remember yours may be better. Indeed, yours is better. Problems may arise from financial crisis stretching hand and wings to physical deformities then spreading to academic disqualifications and many millions of varieties. No matter how small the discomfort it poses, it’s still a problem. Some problems can be dealt within time while others remain how they were. Accept things that you cannot change and adjust to them with time. Even if your cases remain serially unsolvable, remember yours is still better. Rejoice therefore in the little that you have; be content, yours is better!

No complains, not even one. No complains here at all. If you have been drowned by your failures and soaked by your effortlessness, complains bring to you no remedy. Your “unable” does not listen to your “complains”. It’s the moves you will make that will put you align and direct you to where you are going. If you are not determined, your attempts may even worsen your problem and you then would be crippled to progress more. With determination, a well planned venture, well directed can provide personal power and attainment; an attainment well determined results in success, an avenue for leaving marks down for the next generation.

Your problems may confine you indeed, they are noted for that; but surely allow for you a little delimit. The range of freedom provided to you by your problems, mark it to be your stronghold, more clearly, your stepping stone! The minority or majority of laurel that is confined, name it your weak point, similar to a stumbling block!

Should your weak points exceed your strongholds, more trial is needed, more drive in required. When the axe is blunt, more strength is needed, says the Bible. More effort, more performance, more time and more energy are needed! For all you know little about, someone with a relatively weaker strength is flying swiftly while you with mere weakness are perching. Should it now be concluded that it’s your problems that kept you static? Certainly not! Rather it’s your inability to develop on your stronghold, to create what will challenge your weak point for a way to be created for your flight.

No complains is needed, it’s your attempt. An attempt to develop..., develop on the little you have in order to mount high, higher. For all you don’t know, someone with a weaker status is progressing with the little he has since all doors do not close. Make an attempt, rejoice and develop the little you have because yours may be better.

THE STING OF CIVILIZATION

The common saying that “every action has a reaction” is undoubtedly applicable in diverse areas of life. Likewise every rose flower has thorns around it. This clearly teaches that even things viewed to be highly valuable equally have hidden laggings somewhere. The ‘bee’, a species belonging to a class of insects is well noted for its economic importance, thus production of honey. This same tiny animal is also known to be made up of a “sting” with which it “bites” an individual when tempered with inflicting painful sensation and swelling at the site involved.

Civilization when viewed critically with unbiased spiritual eyes is a ‘metaphorical bee’ in the sense that it does not only ‘open the eyes’ of humans to device better and advanced means living, but   also it has ‘closed their minds’ from knowing where they are being led to. The verb ‘civilize’ which means ‘to influence peoples’ behavior, making or teaching them to act in a more sensible or gentle way also can be described as ‘to behave in a way that is more ‘fair’, ‘comfortable’, ‘developed’ and ‘suitable’.

There is no need arguing the fact that civilization as led the hands of many humans out of ignorance where man can now easily understand how things do happen, for instance causes of diseases. The credit goes again to civilization, for by virtue of it, advancement in communication methods, transport and many more developments wouldn’t have been a success now. Imagine how the world would have been without a climb to this level, courtesy civilization. We would be unfair if we don’t put our hands together for the great work done by civilization through scientific explorations, clinical advancements and technological inventions that made life on earth so easy. However, despite all these benefits, civilization stands proud to present to us parcels of vices containing uncountable pieces of dirty practices that do nothing than preparing us for the devil’s butchering knives. No controversy! This concept is more of a panel, prepared to scrutinize some of the stings that this metaphorical bee has developed to inflict pains to those who pursue its laurels.

First of all, lets spot the sudden changes in the costume adorn by today’s victims of civilization. There is no denying the fact that the principal reason for clothing oneself is to hide one’s nakedness, any other reason could be acceptable but not principal. Unfortunately modern civilized folks have invented different reasons for this and the former reason is almost given a kick into extinction. See how this parlous state of our current world is provokingly excusing real virtues. If you ask today’s music pop star or entertainer or a talented beauty pageant to prescribe attire for you to use on stage, guess the types he or she would offer for you to make your choices. Only few or even nobody will attest to the fact that these people we see especially on the screens do exhibit the premier, divine, authentic biblical and principal reason for dressing even if they have it in their minds at all. Another modernly civilized accomplice of the above named villains is the carnal fashion designer under whose tutelage this ‘bee’ continues to reproduce more species whose stings become adapted to carry out whatever they were bred to do. All these people are civilized, no need to argue this out. But have under the preamble of various thoughts deviated from the ideal; thoughts arising from ‘immoral desires’, ‘inordinate affections’ ‘luxurious ideations’ and ‘mundane folly’. Dressings have now taken hold of the much awaited chance to become excessively glittering, meager or inadequate, explicitly stylish, transparent and permissively attractive to spectators. We should however note that no matter the admiration or condemnation we give to these alterations, no matter how appealing or appalling they are, it is evident that the some souls and spirits of the bodies on which these attires hang are not as glittering as the attires that hang on their bodies. More clearly, the unsaved, stinky and rotten souls of some of these civilized are in well decorated, shinny, transparent, stylish and attractive wears. Of which benefit at all is it to find a dead soul in mechanized apparels? Or is it a modern interpretation of what Bible calls ‘a white tomb’ containing ‘unclean bones of dead people’? A Christian convert who was once a slave, encapsulated by the thirst for fleshly pleasures announced that her conversion was primarily pivoted by a simple question she asked herself but could not identify worthy answers to support this question. The questions she said was; ‘who am I pleasing with my costume’? Question of destitution it is! Possible answers arising; ‘God’ or ‘human being’? ‘A mortal soul or an immortal spirit’? Can an attractively inadequate attire be used to please God? “If it’s meant to please God, is it to do this by seducing Him? Its real that God cannot be seduced by a lady’s sexy cloth, He is a supernatural spirit and that cannot happen. But would He approve of something seductive?” Think about those questions for a moment. Perhaps it could be an anti-venom for the poison of the stinging bee.

Mother civilization had nursed human hands with crafty skills; how experienced and skillfully have they now graduated into. The evidential services are not far-fetched. Though the moral lessons transmitted to generations through audiovisual inventions, still civilization has in stock some consumers to sting there too. The major preys for this bait are those folks who fail to interpret the sarcastic bacons from this ironic intruder. Through the manual dexterity of the inventors, more adjustment are even made from time to time that the eyes of those, to whom the handiwork appeals cannot afford to blink to lose a glimpse of these so called civilized follies.

Talk briefly about the violence that skillfully magisterial violence has fabricated and parceled into a deluxe gift. And as if by a magical lobby, easily fascinated Christian brothers and sisters who peradventure might have been unlucky to have presented themselves around the scorching magnetic fields of these products, accepts to surrender their mortal fleshes to them with no questions or with negligible resistance. We are trying to decode the word “sting”. Isn’t it? By comparism, additions and deductions, a critical look will reveal that the violent films popularly unveiling their frightening synonyms such as “war films” are just real brutal tools that are used by self to deconstruct one’s own virtues; and we know an attempt to destroy oneself is a crime known as suicide. We opened this concept by dividing through the main objective characters that made civilization comparable to the “bee”. Recapping them, we were first of all grateful to civilization for “opening the eyes of humans to delete ignorance”. Likewise by concern, on the same platform, we went straight to frown on civilization for “closing the minds of human preys against knowing where they are being led to”. Yes, the sense deficient and unreasonably entertaining movies unquestionably have created tall ramps or should we say mountains, on the paths that the legs of our souls tread to victorious eternity. Then can’t we describe civilization as literal Trojan horses? Yes. This will be fitting since the projects aligned by civilization seemed to be ordinary, but have hidden intensions behind the plateau of understanding of mundane souls. Practical analysis will unveil the fact that there is a great irony lying in the loose bosoms of these brutes. The irony is that, they are consuming poisons by their mouths, and it consumes them by their souls; meanwhile in their minds, they are swallowing a delicious delicacy. Blinded indeed!

We have not yet touched on the other brutal versions of these man-made audiovisual products as started above. However, the final, but one out of the numberless brands of these destructive equipments our panel is yet to screen is found in the pornographic enterprise. Guess; from a glossy screen of a civilized man-made electrical appliance, stairs at you a woman, either fractionally nude or totally naked and is seductively displaying, perfectly excusing God’s laws of morality right in front of you. What will come into your mind? This product, is it not more than a prepared fist, ready to box one’s creator? Or let’s say it could be a set of demolishing gadgets set to bring down God’s temple. I believe it’s not only in the electronic media do we feel the harmful scorching of such dreadful presentations, but also in the print media where their intensions are transmitted through pornographic pictures, messages and a lot more. The last straw to have the camel’s back in pieces is the fact that these filthy ideations are being distributed in bits for no expensive charges. A boy or a girl below my age can just fetch legions of them from the internet where they flow like oceans at his or her convenient time, on a convenient storage device, and once at a leisure time, have a full share of its venom. Computers of various capacities, televisions of various brands and their accomplices have now swayed people from the road linking here and above. You know why? Just answer this; if a 90 minutes football match plus extra injury time could make a patronizing human emotionally and hilariously glued to the TV set, while a 3 minutes entry into prayer induces sleep, how do we call that TV? A graceful saviour, or a deliberate killer? If a person can make a list of heroes of football both living and dead, but cannot describe the role that one Biblical hero played, do we call that game a grace or a danger? This is the ‘bitter sting’ we are saying the ‘sweet honey’ producing bee is carrying.

Still on the emphasis on the stings of civilization. Let’s screen another set of conspicuous sting in mother civilization which is the arrival of human rights and freedoms. There we know we still have to put hands together for civilization in that it has to an extent enlightened the society to give away the parlous canker of primitivity. Unfair human practices such as female genital mutilation, child labour are done away with and positive time-table on humanitarianism has replaced the former. Despite these laurels, we can’t be mute to voice this fact that even the rights and freedoms are hybrids of two contradicting species. Let’s judge it from these spectacles; because of the existence of the right and freedoms, today’s little ones can easily do a formerly unaccepted thing in a modernly accepted way. A child can get the guts to fearlessly inform the Christian parents he has his right to religion. Foreign countries have more to say. It happened where an adolescent sued her mother who did not want to spoil her daughter, by sparing the rod. A caring mother saw herself locked behind bars, not permitted to be bailed just because she had the thought of a disciplinarian. You ask why? And you get the answer “human right”. “Right”? How can a “right” make a biblical saying “wrong”? Meanwhile, mother was just trying to prevent daughter from the horrible consequences of pornographic films, which is another vice orchestrated by civilization. Can you now listen to what civilization is saying here? It says you have the “rights” to do a “wrong” and if an “innocent” person corrects you, he or she becomes “guilty”.

Civilization has blinded the eyes of humans. Even the pairs of eyes that see cannot see what they think they are seeing. Brethren, if as a living being, you know very well the health hazards of smoking, having it clearly spelt on the packet of a cigarette, yet you sell it in your store to customers, can you prove yourself by telling me that you are not blind? In the same way, it you can read this health caution against these products, understanding what it implies and yet you purchase it for consumption, who do you think you are? A blind man of course! So here a blind and a blind are transacting business together and you know what it results into if a blind is leading a blind. God’s principles are against alcoholism not only for holiness sake, but for human anatomical tolerance also. But what do we see? Civilization will not let you call it alcohol, rather “alcoholic beverage” which means it has been diluted with a percentage of a not-forbidden liquid. So, we are meeting another reason why we should refer to civilization as a “Trojan horse”; it encourages you to eat poisons that you think are delicious meals. So you see, civilization has partially accepted the concept of smoking and drinking, while God is not interested in both.

Criminal abortion is no longer a sin in the faces of today’s civilized youth, all in the crafty name of civilization. Marriage which supposed to have been a permanent and God oriented union has now metamorphosized into an “on trial” contract where the shareholding contractors can choose to vacate for a time or for good. The young have also recklessly turned into defining marriage in mishandled and misinterpreted way and soon grow to have limping marriages. Now, a man can marry a man, woman marrying a woman and nothing is seen to be wrong with it. Cyber modifications also proved themselves by suggesting ways they thought good for people to make their marital choices. All these made the whole setting of the geographical earth crust to appear horribly different from how it was few minutes post creatively.

Civilization has constructed a perpetually unending race among the living society in quest of making them satisfy their thirst for material and “moth- eaten” treasures. It also has an ideation of demolishing the thoughts of divine benefits, divine purpose of creations by substituting them with the scientific discoveries on evolution which wrestles to win this recognition that human beings unlike the bible said were not created but evolved. Another area where civilization agrees to disagree the power and authority of God comes into play when those so called scientific laws refuse to enable one to believe the areas where God exploited his supernatural powers to disprove natural laws. A head-to-toe scientist would ridicule the fact that “Christ walked on water”. Thomas Cardyle saw this state of disbelief of the world and said; “if Jesus were to come today, people would not even crucify Him. They would ask Him to dinner and hear what He has to say and make fun of it”. It’s true because to the “civilized brains”, God’s laws are insignificant and archaic since we are in a new world.

The ugly one here is that, by the decisive crafts of civilized thoughts, wickedness is on the ascendance. The guns, bombs and other missiles are not things we can’t say are not product produced and advertised by civilization. Wickedness is proliferating daily all because man have a close access to things that can kill and destroy. The effort of the all-day industrious civilization have led to decorated or ornamental recreational activities that stairs as glittering spikes of luxury and lust, thereby “closing the minds” of living humans behind the thoughts of the question “where am I being led to”? Now that the “mental luxury” of grand civilization has converted its tasteless intensions into chocolate-filled lyrics, the high-life and low-life, cools or hots, what can a brute do than to rush for them? The great irony behind this ignorance is that although these monotonous musical rhythms tickle its patronizers to feelings of excitements, day in day out, it points its dirty fingers with pride accusingly into the face of its maker. You can even judge this yourself with biblical assumptions. Bible states clearly, God deserved to be praised. God himself out-listed a command of praise with musical orientation to him from the very pots He has modeled. He explicitly stressed, He is a jealous God. If a modeled creature of His will then offer a non-sensible music to please who or whatever he or she thinks he or she seems to know, will there not be a cause for jealousy from the great creator? This is rightly the reason why a worldly music, both local and foreign points it dirty warning fingers into the eyes of God with vile accusations. Believe this or not, where there is singing and dancing on those songs, God is not and cannot be there! It’s a bit bitter to understand but am sorry you have to take it like that and adjust.

Before we use this moment to accept the already passed judgment for the dilemma that civilization could be a “metaphorical bee”, lets without biasness endorse the fact that though these easily identifiable evidences decode by this concept, there are more known and more yet-to-be-discovered proofs that should awaken us to believe that despite the deluxe edifices of vitality constructed by civilization, it still have parlous estate predisposing humans to eternal doom.

As said by Marva Collins, “success doesn’t come to you, you go to it”. Success is not like a concert or a display which is brought to your door steps. An old saying taught that “if they are bringing the show to your house, you don’t need to go out to meet it” unfortunately; success is not one of those shows that trample its feet to people’s houses without an invitation. Even if you invite success, it will not pay you that visit until you do follow ups and carry it by your personal hands and brings it in.

Success relates and applies to different people in different ways and endeavours in life. For instance, the success of a newly married couple is to remain in unity, bring forth good children and celebrate marriage anniversaries later in life. Success to a student may be to pass that examination, make that mark in that special test and later come out with flying colours. Similarly, a market woman may define her success as evident when her sales bring profit as expected. Another area of success is to a Christian who looks forward to enjoying eternity not in agony, but in triumph. The reality of this goal of that Christian is evident by one day seeing himself among the elects of God after the end of the first heaven and the first earth and this is his success. It therefore means everyone has success stories to dream about and success songs to learn and sing since we all engage in daily chores that we must expect to bring success to us.

Success is not stolen. It is bought. It is not free, it has to be purchased and everything being purchased must be paid for. Payment for success is not based on installment. Full cash for full success. Now who sells success? Where can we get success to buy? And how much does it cost? Its obvious success could have its counterfeit and genius form. Beware where your success is bagged for you. It could either be too costly or counterfeit. Well if too costly, there is nothing wrong to worry about. However if it’s a white elephant, that is where disappointment lies.

Off, let’s embark on an expedition for success. Let’s roam the markets, supermarkets and the like to see if we can have the of success on sales there. Screening the stalls, stores, tents, shops etc., we will find success seeds at many of these spots, but let’s only select and purchase only  three (3), from the best three stores. These best stores where we can find success in potency are acronymised as A.R.S.

ATTITUDE:
Attitude is defined as the opinions and feelings that you have about something and the way you behave towards someone or in a particular situation. Attitude is the spectacle you use to view an existing condition and approaching ones. Here, bad attitude makes you to be either shortsighted on one way or blind on the other way, therefore making you unable to focus either an impending situation or a current opportunity. Some examples of good attitude are hard work, appreciation, humility, divine desire, etc. The reverse side of these includes laziness, low self-esteem, inordinate desire, procrastination, excuses and many more. Now, behind the counter, there are other types of attitudes that are neither described as good nor bad. These are ugly attitudes and comprise envy, greed and hatred.

We are shopping, isn’t it? It therefore means, we may see the good, the bad and the ugly, but the last two are of no importance to our day long expedition. Remember, it’s not everything you need when shopping.  All said and done, good attitudes are being parceled for us to take home. What is left for us is to pay the price. Don’t forget we are paying the right amount, for the right quantity of the right product, in the right currency. To have your success seeds taken home legally, you must pay in the notes of the following three (3)currencies;

1.       COMMITMENT: According to Mario Andretic “desire is the key to motivation, but it is determination and commitment to an unrelenting pursuit of your goal; - a commitment to excellence, that will enable you to attain the success you seek”. Success ideations don’t not grow with you automatically, you need to graft them to yourself and let them be part of your reasoning faculty. Grafting success to be part of your daily thoughts will also cost much to pay. I believe you know the price, thus commitment and determination to attain the height for that success you pursue.

2.       CONFIDENCE: Low self-confidence is the first killer of confidence. This makes you unwilling and you may lose focus, direction and passion for your vision. Loss of passion on itself is a bad attitude. The main sources of low self-confidence include regrets from past failures, weakness of the mind, and fear of risk taking. All these create negative and illusive fences around business, academics, marital and even spiritual concepts. Do you really want to spread wings of success with which you will fly above others? Then you need to “see hope in the face of difficulties” as Barrack Obama said. And don’t forget successful people do what unsuccessful people don’t and can’t do. Be confident and you will rise above your limitations.

3.       CONSCIOUS AWARENESS: This is yet another currency for paying for success seeds. Consciousness is more of a light or a path finder that helps you to knowing where you are and where you are heading towards. It’s obvious you can’t go ahead without first knowing where you are and where you are heading towards. This principle applies in almost all areas of life. Bad attitudes may surface within certain times and unawareness which we can also refer to as unconsciousness is the main speaker in these trying moments. Self-awareness on the other way works around the clock to exchange generosity for greed, and love for hatred. It also divides passion into petty fragments that cannot stand united and the results are to redefine success as impossible.  Self-unawareness is more of a cancer that eats away the tissues of your good attitudes long before even before diagnosis are made. Know of your current status; assess your stance from time to time. Be conscious. Be your coach, directing and monitoring your daily movements with the voice from your divine maker.

Success is not freely handed out; it’s carried with stretched hands and paid for. Pay with courage, remember your convictions are the determinants of the lifespan of your attitudes and change is the necessary tool for resetting your lost success.

RESOLUTIONS:
We are still in the marketplace, yet another stall where we will need to purchase “resolutions” as success seeds as part of our success expedition. Resolutions are defined as commitments a person makes to one or more personal goals. It could be to transform a habit, to accomplish a goal or to attain any height of importance. It is the foundation of lifestyle change and is always predicted as advantageous. The main source of resolutions is the mind, the brain, the reasoning chamber, the gate of entry for all decisions. Resolutions are paid for as usual. A thought to take it without payment is stealing which is an ugly attitude and sin and hence have no room in the mansions of success. However after paying for this success seed, its reception is a bit ceremonial; with opening and closing ceremonies respectively. Simply put; “before you resolve new ways, you must dissolve the old skills”. Both the dissolution and the resolution must be involved in the plans of God.

Ø  DISOLVING: We open our ceremony at a point when a former ways of behaving; habits or goals are done away with as they become irrelevant to the explored success. Bad ways are given away, its darkness and light. They can’t co-habit. When light comes, darkness must flee.

Ø  INVOLVING: Who is involved in the resolution process of those ugly ways? God of course. It’s from Him, in Christ that we are being adopted to be called His sons and daughters.

Ø  RESOLVING: This is when you obtain the cheques that draw you to the bank where you once had a locked account. You can now withdraw your success by the help of new ideas. This is the closing ceremony that graduates you to distil your success. However while still at the counter, you need to pay duly with the following terms and  conditions as applied:

1.       Resistance of unprofitable opportunities: At the dissolution stage of your success deal, all tempting behaviours, especially those caused by bad attitudes must be avoided. Some things that appear as opportunities are real sins. It takes conscious awareness to identify these and re-align. It also takes endurance to resist a bad attitude and persistence to keep doing this continuously. When dissolving old ways for the new, you get these odd powers fighting back to take their former seats. It’s like coup d’état where there is tension in the system of opposition and the ruling. But with involvement of God and perseverance, your resolution are secured.

2.       Reading your value: As a self-life coach where you become a monitor to your own walks, beware of factors that may hinder good decisions and transform them for the better. It is like the work of a thermometer and that of a thermostat. Both can measure views, quantities and parameters, but it’s only the thermostat that can transform the state of a situation for the better. Thermometer measures it and there it ends.

3.       Redefining the size of your dream: Success is not obtained from the silver platter. It is bought and re-fashioned. At the point of dissolution, ideas to be given away were determinants of narrow success, so we will call that narrow dreams. But thanks be to God they were given away by involving him to resolve new ways whose size are wide and deep.

If at last you don’t succeed, blame it on your brain, not anything else. Resolution is started from your brain. With resolutions, you get up one day and say; “oh no, am not going to do that again!”. You say it and say it with passion and commitment. Your brain is responsible for posting warning letters of change to you and this you need to reply for your own betterment. You owe it to yourself to open those letters and comply with their provisions and suggestions. Do not blame it on anyone if you don’t succeed because, your brain is responsible for this since it’s here resolutions germinate.

SACRIFICE:
Sacrifice is yet another set of seeds of success in stock. What then is sacrifice and how can it be planted for it to germinate into seedlings? Sacrifice in this simple concept is to invest the little you have for a better achievement later. Take note, it’s like sowing and harvesting where the sowing period demands labour and the harvesting time brings humour. Sacrifice is an investment that pays more interest; however, the amount of interest paid is directly proportional to the amount of sacrificial seeds deposited initially. The most horrible factors that reverse the pace of an incoming success includes a life without prayer, a prayer without faith, faith without work and work without sacrifice. No one stood up and built a storey building overnight. This may occur, but only in night dreams where you sleep after a heavy meal and saw that a branded success was handed over to you in attractive parcels and you wake up to see its fallacy. Success does not find its way to you through idle gates. No. success is obtained through sacrifice, struggle and sometime suffering. Many types of sacrifice exist but the principal example is personal sacrifice which is exchange for with the following attributes;

Ø  Self discipline: It is not enough to just write you goals, visions and values down. Your inherent commitment to plans you made is the price you pay to get the objective criteria of those plans. Each and everyone, even the unsuccessful also have a volume of discipline. This account for the reason why a lazy student though lazy, cannot sleep 24 hour in a day. He or she will by every means wake up even if its midday to start his or her daily work. But a customer on the search for success must do more than an unconcerned idle citizen whose dreams about being fed with golden spoon by another person. Self-discipline suggests that you make plans and stick, committed to them or you have resolutions and you don’t go against them. You need to give away pleasure hour in quest of pursuing a divine desire in your directions; this takes sacrifice. Sometimes it feel bitter when keeping on track because as said earlier success is a warfare in which troops of abandoned attitudes still create the tension when they demonstrate for a comeback. Self-discipline turns them away.

Ø  Self-passion: Self passion is to say the zeal, or the enthusiasm with which a person yearns for that success in the search mirror. The higher the concentration, the higher you sacrifice. Self-passion makes you to say no to one thing at a time and yes to the other. Lack of passion or drive is termed apathy where the individual is melancholic and unwilling to play a part in his own success. “The difference between successful person and the other is not lack of strength, not lack of knowledge, but rather in lack of will”, says Vincent Lombardi. Apathetic people cannot do what passionate folks do. Once apathetic, your limitation is mediocrity, but passion is determination to ride beyond excellence. Self-involvement when passion arrives is the way of creating success by your own fingers. Have the passion for self-analysis. Don’t pretend to be the ultimate. Passion in its express form results in self-confidence, a molder of good attitude and self-confidence at work is termed, courage. Emotions, appetites and desires are powerful forces that can carry you far. In the presence of purposeful emotions and, healthy desires, courage is set in motion for success alongside self-discipline.

Ø  Service to mankind: Success unshared is failure. For this reason,   you owe it to yourself to have it in mind that a conviction to distribute in pieces the booty you have harvested is a sacrifice towards great successful attainments. Jim Rohn confirmed this when said “whoever renders service to many puts himself in line for greatness; great wealth, great return, great satisfaction, great reputation and great joy”. Service to mankind they say is service to God. The help offered by the spirit of greediness is just as disastrous as an unnoticed failure. The only way greediness can help you for success to be restored for you is to take its hands off your mind and introduce generosity to your door steps. Giving, they say is the proof that you have conquered greed. Sacrifice the little you have, don’t be a miser. Being a miser is a sacrifice of the wrong thing to get the right one and too often ends in loosing of both. Sacrifice your time, your money, your talents, your resources to get what you really want and you will never regret to have harvested a wonderful package of success. Cultivate the habit if thinking about others.

Back from our long expedition to purchase the raw materials to prepare success. We have in our shopping basket three distinct seeds to sow and reap what we are destined for and thus; ATTITUDE, RESOLUTIONS AND SACRIFICE; in short you can call them A.R.S. Before you go on ploughing the fertile land to plant these seed of success, still remember that success is not meant for a selected few despite it seems to be so. However it belongs to those who rise up to the awareness of their calling to fulfill what they were send for. These people have passion for what they pursue. You can also ride among the successful provided you are prepared to pay the cost.

You first turn the wheel of success inside you by your thoughts and the outcome will reflect on the outside. Remember again that successful people are ordinary people who:

1.       Have positive attitude towards their actions, directions and convictions

2.       Respect their own values, virtue and voluntary visions

3.       Have a burning passion to see their purposes realized

4.       See hope ahead in the face of every difficulty.

5.       Can believe in their resolutions even if they seem impossible

6.       Pursue excellence and reject the arguments of mediocrity

7.       Make constant efforts towards their perceptions

8.       Consciously are aware of their state through self-analysis

9.       Believe failure could be an opportunity to succeed better

10.   Maximize the size of the dreams they pursue

11.   Believe success is worked for from the inside to the outside.

MARRIAGE IS NO CHILD’S PLAY

It only takes ignorance for a person to eat with dirty hands unwashed. Washing before eating is basically to avoid contamination with micro-organisms which could be fatal. This practice pinpoints the fact that before one gets along to find something to do, he got to prepare duly in order to avoid being entangled with a mesh network of mess and miseries.

Marriage, as a divine, permanent union of a mature man and a mature woman is one of the numberless requirements of humans and everyone is fully aware of this. In a like manner, it also requires “hand washing” prior to its establishment in order to avoid the ghastly aftermath, of it being contaminated. Paramount, the hand washing before marriage has to do with preparation of oneself , thinking well and involving the almighty creator in every bit of proceedings since once entered, there is no way for exit. This is no joke. Considering the solemnity, the permanence and vow-requisition state of marriage, one can tell without any trace of doubt that anyone who dares take it lightly is just arching him/herself into destruction ever after. Marriage is a business of serious people.

Today, it is not uncommon for you to see pairs of legs of premature teenagers treading flimsy and unknown ways to get into marriage. Large percentage of these “yet-to-grow” generation do these by  getting someone opposite of their sex, with such similar mind set who get on side servicing the other counterparts immorally with a vague hope of one-day being married couples. The pitiful news of doom here is that most of their hurrying pairs of legs only fall into ghostly pits. The seriousness of marriage should be taken note of. Its only animals which have no distinct sense about making distinct families that go on messing their bodies here and there sexually irrespective of their age, race, family and species.

It takes a high spiritual ranking, due physical maturity, worthy social growth and attainment and then specifically, a mature mental development for human hands to wear marital pairs of gloves. For one to encounter and endure a certain hardship in courtship, it takes emotional maturity and high mental tolerance. Failure of these fundamental and unavoidable states of the involved personnel will only paint matrimony as disharmony. Many folks who are inconsiderate about the role of maturity in mate selection and therefore gallop in hurry to marry only rush or dash into a crush or smash at last.

It takes every living fraction of the labour force a perpetual industry to maintain a worthy source of livelihood and industry if firmer with fundamental, conversional or vocational education. Lack of this solid means of economic sustenance will only do the best that a lorry does when it is out of fuel. Where then does a teenager lie when it comes to a supportive occupation? Even in the presence of a supportive income, one needs the skills of home management and economic planning which also takes its source and success from mental growth and experience of the individual. Inadequate knowledge about this which we should define as ignorance will only shovel the ignorant fellow into liquidation resulting from prodigal expenditure and spendthrift folly. Questions unfolding; how does it take an immature brain to suggest a meaningful budget on livelihood? Would it be by a magical lobby or what?  I mean a decision free from an unreasonable encounter of excessive, extravagant spending spree, culminating from a ‘neonates’ mental faculty, how possible? And if impossible in the presence of a standing income, how possible will it be in its potential and perhaps, its progressive absence? Just accept this fact; money or no money, an immature brain cannot and therefore does not handle a spouse, children, in-laws and others with its little mental space if there is some at all. Let’s be in focus. Marriage is no play for the underdeveloped.

Another set of preparatory requirements for one to be bonded through courtship is the ability to exhibit the knowledge obtained from basic etiquettes; knowledge on personal care, hospitality, up keeping of house, simple and varied courtesies that are just basic but obligatory. An ability to resolve internal and external conflicts, appreciation and acceptance of others are also part of interpersonal relationships skills for people to inculcate prior to their bonding. Other fruits of the spirit such as love kindness, generosity, longsuffering, self-control, submissiveness, humility, peacefulness, patience, honesty, compassion, mercifulness, empathy, forgiveness and the like are requirements that must not be left out in preparations towards the permanent union. It should however be carefully noted and left unquestioned that all the above preparations have to be made before who the mate would be is known. You don’t get along with some “idol” and be preparing together as you commit the vice. This indicates that the ‘free’ person preparing for marriage should take the chance to acquire the above seeds and at the same time avoid fruits of the flesh such as anger, selfishness, impatience, greed, jealousness, dishonesty, fornication, immodesty, rudeness and so on. The good fruits are deliberately learnt and made part of the individual permanently while the bad ones are also avoided deliberately to be away from the individual permanently.

A person who shuns basic civic responsibilities is not an eligible citizen; with this knowledge, it therefore means obedience of civic norms, regulations, bye-laws, payment of taxes, electoral participation and a whole lot should be part and parcel of people preparing to raise a family. The period for employing the premature brain to make wrong decisions which are regretted later (if not on earth, then on judgment), can profitably be projected into the moment when all the mentioned good fruit are learnt and mastered habitually to help later in life. Unfortunately, this tender age of our mentally unproductive generations is the moment they spent to make slippery and unrealistic choice that later increases the length of their cock and bull stories of broken heartedness. This is the “eating without hand washing” that the concept is trying to decode.

Avoidance of God in the preparatory moment for marriage is as fatal as walking on a rope bridge over a big gutter. How then is God involved in marriage? (Take the benefit of this chance to study this from your preacher. But be aware that most people who were defaulters find it difficult to hit where they lagged). Bible declared that God is a giver of good gifts (James 2:17) and will not give something that would harm His child (Matt. 7:9-10). Else, it will just be like giving a sharp, shiny and beautifully made knife to a child! Knife we know plays an important role in the kitchen and elsewhere. But of which benefit is a knife to a little one? God will not do that even if this knife is the most precious one. A person preparing for marriage should be someone who is saved. Salvation doesn’t mean finding your name in the register of a congregation. That is not salvation. Salvation has to do with inner conversion of oneself through acceptance of Christ as a saviour from God by confession and forsaking of one’s sinful update. Remember it is inner, not outer.  A saved citizen of the kingdom is the one who is in a constant relationship with God, sincerely born-again, actively promoting the will of God on earth and being fervent in communication with God. God does not decide for block-headed people.  He or she must be imitable, exemplary, and accommodating. Good intrapersonal and interpersonal relationship, ethics of co-habitation and higher spiritual disposition enables a person to know how to relate with the spouse, in-laws, etc. and be adjusted to the new environment where he/she might be compelled to go. It should therefore be stressed that age as far as maturity is concerned is necessary here before a person can discern a decision that contains sense for identifying a rightful mate. No wonder, universal adult suffrage concessions also has it that a person should be above age 17 before voting in an election. Good. It means those below that point when permitted to vote will do it anyway, but unwisely. For a child to choose a partner in his /her childhood with a future marriage in focus is like carrying fire in one’s bosom. It’s so funny and amusing, but pitiful. Can a man carry fire in his bosom and his cloths will not be burnt? (Prov. 6:27). Try it and see if you would not only regret to have a woeful tale to narrate.

Millions of people all over the world tried it and became dissatisfied sooner or later. Even the lifespan of the titanic is longer than these their once-cherished relationships. This case is fitting for those boys and girls out there who during their basic education time have seen themselves mature enough as they notice some minute physical changes occurring at some fragile parts of their bodies. With these sets of deceptive changes, they consider themselves ripe for what is meant for matured heads to carry. As if it’s an Olympic marathon, some do rush to tag along with a boyfriend or a girlfriend or simply an opposite sex. The cause for amusement here, though sympathetic is that, what is meant to be called “fiancé or fiancée” they call “boyfriend or girlfriend”. What is supposed to be backed by “love” is supported by ‘lust’. Varieties of reasons and factors will not make that dirty relationship work. One of these numerous factors is greediness; a partner in that babyish-relation who sees another prettier greener pasture may wish to graze there also. A surge in jealousness easily tears the union apart and the victim of this separation depending on the level of childish-mindedness may go for another “sin partner” in quest of fulfilling his or her already sparking libidos. Some as if have no brains in their premature skulls would go as far as tagging along with any prettier person they met giving rise to multiple sexual partners. A person with such a narrow thinking is only heaping up junks or rubbishes that would one day need to be burnt, and burning them would surely produce smokes of troubles not easy to be quenched.

There was this story of a lady who had had three different “future husbands” at different times already during her four-year tertiary education while she was still in the third year of studies. All these landed in vague disappointment and she nearly ended it all by committing suicide. As childish, as she was, she picked up the number four “husband-hopeful” while she stepped into the final year on an account of disappointment from the third. No surprise. But one question of destitution to think about is that “can a decision Godly taken end in vain without fulfillment?” Is not that which is tied in heaven also tied on earth? Was her decisions backed by God? If yes, then why should it end; if no then why should she keep repeating the wrong method that produces no results. And if a tertiary student could have acted childishly like this, what could have happen while younger she was? See, see, see, God is not an “on trial man”, He does not decide and withdraw, He does not suggest and dispose, He does not tempt and cannot be tempted. Any idea that makes you try to try someone in relationship to see if it will result in marriage is from the devil. Either you are surely convinced it will succeed or you don’t try!

The divinely instituted union is being taken for granted and the founder of this union just posed in silence taking a glance at the defaulters. Of which benefit is it for a partner to be changed like baby’s diapers? Only baby’s brain would love this to be done since they are found of soiling diapers frequently.

When young adolescent today are hiding in dark crevices and planning love issues in the crafty name of romance, it clearing tells they are speedily steering their premature lives into jeopardy, and jeopardy we know is defined as “a danger of loss or harm”; thus a game that has a risk of making you sustain bitterness (harm) or miss a marked focus (loss). Every “childhood” relationship with lust roots only die on the podium of sexual mess and separation in conjunction with broken-heartedness as it is usually termed, plus a compromised mood. But whose fault is it if your so-called sinful boyfriend-girlfriend relationship drifts on an account of unfaithfulness and disappointment into a state of mental agony, intense hatred, tortured heart and you feel like ending it with suicide? Is it not your own fault of inconsistent, baseless and premature thought which led into an incoherent decision made on the platform of childishness? What then is ‘broken heartedness’? Oh my God, a heart in pieces, isn’t it? But how could a heart which once bounced in love soon go in piece? Perhaps, it was not well handled and it slipped off and fell and got broken! May be you gave it to a child to handle. So you see, children are always careless; they can play with some things, but marriage is no game for them.

Lucky are those who by kind courtesy of passing ages and testifying experiences realized the wrong decision taken while younger they were. With time and the current situation telling them the truth, they realize their childish folly as evidenced by them later acknowledging incompatibility with the wrong choice. When they were children, they thought like children. Thank God they have now identified their backdated mistakes. With this, the next step is to use their brains if mature now and prepared for God’s choice, not their own again! Not again! The process may look bitter, but its better!

There are some people who get worried emotionally when the page of their childish “folly” or relationship is brought to a sudden close. There are others too who do not feel any trace of worry since they are fully aware what they have planted would not gain tap roots. A short message here is warning that, worrying or no worrying, an attempt to play with what God meant to be holy attracts and apprehension. This must be hoped for and prepared for if the offender had no sincere repentance. Don’t forget, God has a well divinely planned choice for everyone. Attempting to go your own way may make you to miss the mark and get lost while throwing dust at the face of the precious plan of the divine maker.

LIFE ON CAMPUS

Three (3) wings of school life:  

Life through school becomes successful based on various steps and strategies that a student uses to accomplish the purpose of his/her education. These were summarized in this concept into the acronym A.R.S which reads; Academic, Religious and Social wings, and collectively called wings of school life thus;

A-.Academic wing
R- Religious wing
S- Social Wing

A. - Academic wing: This deals with the actual reason for being admitted into school. In the school you receive lessons that your parents and pastors cannot and do not offer at home and church respectively. Academic knowledge could be practical or theoretical. Practical academic knowledge has to do with observation and experimentation while theoretical academic knowledge deals with reading, researching and applications.

R. - Religious wing: This controls your position as a child of God and links your spiritual disposition. It goes beyond merely having your name in the register of the congregation to which you belong. Religious wing of the student enables him/her to fly higher since God is the provider of knowledge and a closer walk with him results in knowledge acquisition for academic laurels (Proverb 1:7).

S. - Social wing: This regulates interpersonal relationship and co-habitation issues. It is characterized by obedience of campus rules, environmental hygiene and respect for authorities. A well-developed social wing creates a conducive environment for religious and academic wings to spread across for a student to fly. It also promotes knowledge acquisition through sharing of thoughts with those dwelling together in harmony.

Be a “SIX 0’CLOCK or a “TWELFTH THIRTHY”:
A clock, we are aware has three hands; the second hand, the minute hands, and the hour hand. When the time is twelfth o’clock, all hands hung up; when it is six thirty, they hung down. A student must not develop only one wing in his/her school life. To be 6:00 or 12:30, one of your hands must point upwards and the other one point downward while the third keep circulating. Yes, you must not concentrate on only one wing.

Ø  Imagine a student who is academically good but doesn’t reverend God and is disrespectful towards school authorities and friends. This student could learn and pass his/her exams but should remember that he/she cannot present this certificated for an admission into heaven. He or she would also have a low reputation due to disrespectfulness which may hinder his employment or further education since he/her may not be graced with a good testimonial. A question of thought to ask here is that that “what happens if Christ should come during the period of his/her education?

Ø  Imagine a student who is good religiously, spiritually and prays all day with Bible reading alongside without studies. This student would be a failure since he/she doesn’t put the prayers offered into a practical use. Believe it or not, if you think you can pray without studying and still excel, am very sorry.

Ø  Imagine a student who is socially good, respectful towards teachers, obey school rules, ensure environmental hygiene, dusting the dormitory windows, and mopping the bathrooms without reading, learning, praying and practicing. Perhaps this student is good at friendship, polite and kind, but spiritually and academically he refuses to obey God’s commandment plays truancy at school. This student may have a good testimonial due to goods personal relationship level with teachers and friends, but his result in the examination will be weak and that end it.

It’s for this reason that as a student, you must not concentrate only on one dimensional wing as decoded in this concept. You must spread yourself across. Thus you must be 12:30 or 6:00, don’t be 12:00 or 6:30.

What to do and what not to do:

A. -Academically:

Ø  Attend all classes, lectures and extra-classes. Don’t be a truant.

Ø  Be punctual in attendance of classes. Don’t be a latecomer.

Ø  Use every little time you get to study. Don’t be idle.

Ø  Have the school/class time table at your disposal

Ø  Have a good personal time table for personal studies.

Ø  Read tomorrow’s subject a night before the D- day.

Ø  Go personally to teachers for explanation of complex note.

Ø  Visit the library often to research, read, and revise.

Ø  Avoid complacency (the fact that you know something already)

Ø  Be yourself during examinations.

Ø  Avoid all examination malpractices such copying and stealing.

R. -Religiously:

Ø  Be a saved Christian. Salvation has more to do than attending church after baptism. It involves personal cleansing through Christ and re-dedication of oneself to God’s work.

Ø  Attend church service regularly, apply what you learn at church and be involved in church activities at the right time.

Ø  Pray fervently, regularly and dynamically for success, retentive memory and the revelation of good things to you by God.

Ø  Pray for parents, for their provisional capabilities in paying of your fees and buying of books.

Ø  Pray towards exams, against the spirit of forgetfulness, deviation and loss of concentration.

Ø  Observe your quiet time regularly and seek directions from God.

Ø  Maintain the friendship, relationship and communion between you and God through constant fellowship.

Ø  Avoid acts such as drug addiction, smoking, stealing, leaving the dormitory to town without granted exeat, and all forms of law-braking.

Ø  Avoid all forms of sexual immorality such as premarital sex known as fornication, having a sexual partner or partners, wearing of sexy or sexually seductive apparels, attendance of night clubs, and singing of profane songs.

Ø  Be content with what you have, don’t envy your friends.

S- Socially:

Ø  Remember this fact that not everyone can be and should your friend. Be courteous with all but intimate with few.

Ø  Make friends with those who can spring up courage in you. Remember iron sharpens iron (Prov. 27:17) and he who walks with the wise will also be wise (Prov. 13:20)

Ø  Don’t waste precious time Gossiping or discussing about other people partly because its wastes your time and also because God hates those who gossip (Ps 1:1, Titus 3:2)

Ø  Respect teacher, parents and seniors and do whatever they require from you provided it is Biblical (Titus 3:1)

Ø  Attend all social gathering of the school as expected of you or as recognized by school authorities.

Ø  Attend group studies together with friends and ensure harmony between you and them.

Ø  Behave well, let your life speak well of the God you worship (Mat5:16) and be an example to all others (1^st Timothy 4:12)
